STANDARD APPLICABLE TO An ACCREDITATION BODY

IAF recognized Accreditation bodies and that they are audited by they peers against ISO 17011. The audit process is similar to a certification process.

Non-recognized bodies declares themselves as conform to ISO17011 but are not audited by an independent, aauthoritative body.

ISO 17011: 2004 IN A NUTSHELL

The overall aim of this standard is to give confidence and strengthen the peer evaluation process for mutual recognition arrangements between accreditation bodies.

  • the requirements for accreditation
  •  information about the fees
  • rights and obligations of the certification body
  • handling complaints and appeals

About the accredited certification body ISO17011

  • name and address
  • issue and expiry date
  • scopes of accreditation,(including sectors)
